The aim of this study was to analyze the type and effectiveness of curriculum commonplaces in the curriculum panning committee of selected Iranian universities using a qualitative research approach of phenomenological method. Among the curriculum and subject matter specialists in the curriculum committees, 21 were selected through Purposive sampling and the use of a "saturation criterion." Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and analyzed using a Colaizzi's method. Analysis of the interview data to create a main category "The impact of curriculum planning commonplaces" and three sub-categories: 1- Criteria for selection of members of curriculum planning committees (Resistance to change, politicization and non-amphibians in the field of opinion and practice), 2- The share of the participation of subject matter and curriculum planner in curriculum planning (the dominance of the subject matter, Superficial and unscientific view of curriculum planning) and 3- The share of students and employers in curriculum planning (Ignoring the presence of students and poor participation of employers in curriculum planning).
