Theory and Practice in Curriculum is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Iranian Curriculum Studies Association (ICSA). Since its establishment, the journal has been dedicated to advancing curriculum studies by providing an academic platform for the dissemination of original research, the exchange of scholarly ideas, and constructive dialogue among researchers, academics, graduate students, educational leaders, and policymakers. The journal was officially granted its publication license by the Press Supervisory Board of the Islamic Republic of Iran on December 2, 2013. It subsequently received scientific accreditation from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), enabling it to publish high-quality scholarly research in accordance with the national standards governing academic journals in Iran. From its inception, the journal has remained committed to publishing original, innovative, and problem-oriented research that contributes to the advancement of curriculum knowledge and educational practice.
During its early years, Theory and Practice in Curriculum was jointly published by the Iranian Curriculum Studies Association and Kharazmi University. Through the collaboration of distinguished scholars, members of the Editorial Board, reviewers, and researchers, the journal established itself as one of the leading specialized publications in the field of curriculum studies in Iran. Throughout this period, the journal played an important role in promoting scholarly discourse, encouraging critical inquiry, and fostering meaningful connections between curriculum theory and educational practice.
As part of its continued development, the journal entered a new phase in 2026, when the Iranian Curriculum Studies Association became its sole owner and publisher. This transition marked a significant milestone in the journal's evolution, reinforcing its independent identity and providing opportunities to strengthen its editorial structure, modernize publishing procedures, redesign its website, implement Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for published articles, and align its policies and practices more closely with internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing.
Today, Theory and Practice in Curriculum builds upon more than a decade of academic experience and the valuable contributions of its Editorial Board members, reviewers, authors, and readers. The journal remains firmly committed to editorial excellence, research integrity, double-blind peer review, publication ethics, and transparency throughout the editorial process.
